We are tremendously excited to be launching Social Good Families. Since the day Holly and I met, on our very first date, we both discussed our lifelong dreams of working to reduce social and environmental issues.
Then life happened. School, work, family … all important priorities, but suddenly we were 16 years, 4 kids, and 5 startups/companies past that first day of discussing our dreams–and it hit us that the stars would never align. We had to take a few frightful steps into the abyss and be willing to accept whatever result may ensue. Around this time, we also learned about the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. These seemed to offer the blueprint we needed to take the leap of faith.
We hope that today is the beginning of a movement that can unite individuals, families, and organizations into one collective social good family, with the purpose of eradicating apathy toward social issues, and to use evocative storytelling to incite ourselves, our family and our friends into action.
Will we stumble? Totally. Will we be sometimes be ineffective and do things the “wrong way”? Absolutely. But if this is requisite for progress and success, we’re ready for it. And we want you to join us.
